Audio Production: Choose your teammates
When it comes to audio production, independent artists have more options than ever before. Some of these options include:
Self-producing your work
This is a great option for tech savvy musicians with the space and resources to set up a home studio. While there will be start up costs to assemble the software and equipment needed, the ability to maintain total creative control and the freedom to record whenever the spirit moves you are definite benefits. That being said, artists looking for a more collaborative experience with access to shared resources and a variety of expertise and experience may find self-production to be a bit isolating or burdensome.
Hiring a producer
This is where we come in! Hiring a producer or production team to help bring your song to life is a great option for artists who don’t wish to take on the workload or expenses of self-production. This process can be incredibly creative, collaborative, and rewarding, and because all producers bring with them a unique background, style, and studio set up, your chances of finding a producer who meets your own unique needs is pretty high.
If you’re considering hiring us to produce your music (ah what an honor!), here’s what you can expect:
Genuine collaboration. We will empower you to help shape the sound of your music. We don’t care if you’ve never stepped foot in a studio before - your creative instincts matter. We will, of course, provide guidance as well as our own creative expertise during the production process, (and if your own instinct is to say “just do whatever you think is best,” we can do that too!) but we promise to always respect your vision and do everything we can to make music that truly sounds like you.
A safe space. Entering into unknown territory with something as precious as your art can be intimidating. As a production team, we aim to create a welcoming and safe environment for artists. We’ve found that, because we typically work as a duo, we’re able to relax into a communal atmosphere that, for some, may feel less intimidating than a one-on-one setup.
